Provide information about personal care options for individuals with disabilities, help them access the In-Home Supportive Services Program, develop skills and knowledge in interviewing, hiring, management and self-evaluation of personal assistants, interpreters, readers and drivers. CALIF has a registry of properly interviewed personal care attendants who get a background check and proper training by the Personal Assistance Services Council. The PAS advocate also assists in the IHSS appeal process as well as the preparation for the home visit by the county social worker.
