The Department on Disability is sharing the Citywide Park Needs Assessment on behalf of the Department
of Recreation and Parks!
The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) is conducting a Park Needs Assessment to evaluate and improve our parks and recreation facilities. This assessment will help our parks meet the needs of residents for decades to come, expanding spaces for enjoyment, exercise, and community connection.

What is a Park Needs Assessment (PNA)?
A PNA incorporates community feedback and considers data about park amenities, park locations, and number of parks while balancing future population projections and budgets towards overall park
improvements.
Why is it important?
As the City grows, the needs of various communities evolve. This will guide future planning and funding decisions, with the goal of having parks and recreational spaces available and equitably
distributed across the city.
How can you get involved?
You can join engagement events, fill out surveys and share your park needs. Over 82 events and meetings will be held in 2025, inviting various neighborhoods, interest groups, and committees to
participate. Learn more about these meetings at needs.parks.lacity.gov.
Why your input matters.
Every voice counts in shaping the future of our parks. Whether it’s suggesting new amenities, improving accessibility, or emphasizing that our parks are safe and inclusive for everyone, your feedback
will directly influence future decisions about park development and improvements.
